The membership fee for the gym and participation in various sports that encourage physical activity can be quite expensive and sometimes does not seem to be cost effective. New research shows that long-term exercise still saves you money. Scientists from the American Society for Heart Disease analyzed data on 26,000 Americans in the survey gave details about their physical activity.
They were given an exercise program prescribed by any moderate exercise for half an hour, five times a week, or 25 minutes of intense exercise three days a week. The research, published in the journal “Journal of the American Heart Association” found that patients with heart disease, the recommended amount of exercise, saved $ 2,500 a year on bills for medicines and visits to hospitals.
Even people without heart disease and health risks saved an average of $ 500. Study author Khurana Nasir said that if only 20 percent of people with heart disease who are not currently exercising, start dealing with physical activity, the US would save six billion dollars a year of health.
